Obituary of Alice M. West

Alice M. West, 92, of Litchfield, PA passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 with her family by her side at the Towanda Skilled Nursing Home, Towanda following brief illness. She was born on June 17, 1923 in Rome, PA, the daughter of the late John I. and Loretta (Brencley) Gillette. Alice was a homemaker and stay at home mom. She loved to grow flowers, and enjoyed cooking. She was a member of the Litchfield Methodist Church Ladies Auxiliary. She attended the Windham Summit Bible Church. She is predeceased by her husband Lester West, daughter Angela A. Moe, son Ivan West, and two sisters Edna May Parks and Mary Bennett. Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Robert Gorman of Wyalusing, PA, daughters-in-law Teri Moe of Athens, PA and Irene West of Wysox, PA 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 11am to 12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will be follow at the funeral home at 12pm with the Rev. Kenneth Crain officiating. Burial will be in South Litchfield Cemetery, Litchfield, PA.
