Obituary of Jessi L.A. Getchell
Jessi Leigh Anne Getchell, 21, of Athens, PA hung up her gloves peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, February 27, 2015.
She was born on April 29, 1994 in Elmira, NY the daughter of Jeff and Jenni Carlin Baker.
Jessi attended Athens Area Schools. Participating in the Special Olympics, she brought home a Gold Medal. Jessi touched many lives with her courage, strength, fighting spirit, and her winning smile. Every person that met her knew that their lives had been changed and realized the impact she had made on their lives. She was well loved and will be missed by all those that knew her.
She is predeceased her maternal grandfather and friend Gary "Bopie" Carlin, maternal great-grandparents Edward and Charleen (Post) Allen, and Richard and Catherine (Furman) Carlin, grandmother Jean Baker, and her best friend and dog companion Peaches.
Jessi is survived by her parents Jenni and Jeff Baker of Athens, PA, siblings Richard Getchell III of Lockwood, NY, Laurisa Getchell of Athens, PA, and her twin sister Megan Getchell of Sayre, PA, Kip Getchell of Waverly, NY, grandmother Laura (Allen) Carlin of Athens, PA, a very special uncle Gregory Baker of Sayre, PA, aunts Christina (Colin) Cole of Sayre, PA, and Von Carlin of Dubois, PA, uncles Louis Carlin of Athens, PA, Michael (Dora) Carlin of Athens, PA, and Stephen (Kelly) Carlin of Athens, PA and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by a very special friend and her caregiver Heather Johnson of Rome, PA.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 3pm-5pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 5pm.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
