Obituary of William D. Frisk
William D. "Bill" Frisk, 88, of Waverly, NY went to be with His Lord on Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
He was born May 10, 1927 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Nicholas and Minnie Bodewes Frisk.
Bill was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in Italy during WWII. Upon returning from the service, he attended Washington Bible College in Washington D.C. for 4 years and obtained his Ministerial License. Bill and his wife Ruth served the Lord on the Mission Field for many years in Jamaica and Trinidad. He served the Lord in many other capacities by starting a Christian School in Goudsboro, PA and was the Director of the Wayne County Child Evangelism Fellowship. He was a Home School Evaluator. Bill was a School Bus Driver and Janitor for the Western Wayne School District before retiring. Bill was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.
He is predeceased by his great-grandson Dillon Michael Melton, brother Dr. Raymond Frisk and sister Mary Frawley.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Ruth at home, children Robert Frisk of Kalispell, MT, Karen and Kenneth Sloan of Morocco, IN, Thomas and Bonnie Frisk of Honesdale, PA, David and Mary Anne Frisk of White Haven, PA, John and Peggy Frisk of Lake Stevens, WA, Beth and Ted Kraybill of Waverly, NY, and James Frisk of Berwick, PA, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sister Margaret Rose Emmick of Elmira, NY, brother and sister-in-law Dr. James and Patricia Frisk of GA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 2pm-3pm at the Greater Valley Assembly of God, 104 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the Church at 3pm with the Rev. Chris Gray from the Greater Valley Assembly of God Church officiating.
