Obituary of Richard E. Barry
Richard “Dick” E. Barry, 75, of Sayre, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Bradford County Manor following a brief illness.
He was born on June 22, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the son of the late John and Lavina Barry.
Dick worked at the IR, Athens Plant for 38 years before retiring. He loved his antique cars, especially his 1956 Thunderbird and Fords were a must. He enjoyed his radio controlled planes, trains, and automobiles. Dick was known as the family hoarder, loving collecting piles of stuff. The family wants to thank the Salvation Army for being so patient with Dick time after time.
He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law John and Janet Barry and Robert and Mary Barry, nephews John Kepner, Thomas Barry, and Steven Barry, and his beloved dog T-Kee.
Dick is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Herbert and Susan Barry and Philip and Marilyn Barry, nieces Michelle (Mark) Hurlbut, and Brenda Barry (Doug Grover), nephews Philip (Renee) Barry, Richard (Tammy) Barry, Robert (Cathy) Barry, Edward (Fran) Barry, several great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11am at the Tioga Point Cemetery, 803 North Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens.
Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
