I had the pleasure of meeting Deborah last week at a Women’s luncheon on the afternoon of March 15th. My Mom, Jane, and I were seated next to Deb at the function and during our conversations we quickly realized her kind, generous and compassionate spirit. Deborah was particularly moved by one of the speakers and she expressed her gratitude for having the opportunity to be present at such an enlightening event that gave her the perspective to appreciate and cherish her many blessings. Before parting ways, we discovered that it was Deb’s husband who performed my father’s knee replacement surgery just weeks ago – an unexpected connection with our new friend. Later that day we were shocked to hear the tragic news. Now, we extend our deepest sympathies. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this extremely difficult time.

Dear Dermot, Evelyn, Scarlet and Declan,
Our family has been thinking of yours non-stop since we heard the news. Addy said it best last night, "Mom, how can this happen to someone so young, healthy, smart and nice?" It's the question we are all asking and there is no good answer. Another poignant comment from Addy, "Deb cared about everyone." Kids see it so clearly sometimes. We liked Deb a lot, she was so friendly and easy to be around, we had hoped to get to know her and your family better. She was clearly a devoted mother who found joy in the happiness of her children. Deb was so good to Addy the times she stayed over, Addy felt very comfortable there. Deb would text us pictures of the kids having fun together, she had a knack for seeing and capturing their moments of delight. Please let us know any way in which we can be helpful. We had been talking with Deb about having Scarlet and Evelyn over. I am not sure of your plans going forward, but we live right by EAC and are happy to have all the kids here anytime if they need a place to stay after school until you can pick them up.
