Randy A. Severn, 55, died on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital. A lifelong resident of Sayre, PA he was born on December 29, 1960 the son of the late Robert and Dorothy J. Knouse Severn. Randy was well known in the Valley as one with an open heart who touched many lives. He enjoyed cooking, his friends and family and DJ-ing. Randy bartended at the Sayre VFW for many years. Randy worked as the Service Manager for Palmer Manufactured Homes, Inc. since 1979. He enjoyed shopping and was known in his family as the Professional Shopper. He loved his family and was devoted to them. He enjoyed spending time with them and was also a devoted friend to many. He had an eye for detail for home décor and design. Randy loved gardening and refinishing furniture. He was a social butterfly and a prankster; many fell prey to his good natured shenanigans. He is predeceased by his parents; his maternal grandmother Hazel Knouse, paternal grandparents Robert and Ollie Graves, brother Tom Severn and brother in law Claude N. Palmer. He is survived by his sister Mary Lou Palmer of Waverly, NY, brother Gary Severn of Sayre, PA, niece Maryanne Geiss of Waverly, NY, nephew Scott (Penney) Geiss; great nieces Elizabeth and Emily Geiss; aunt Dawn (Joseph) Muller, Uncle Doug (Maybelle) Graves; good friends Michele Lambert and Jeff Dusek, and his many friends, including those at the Sayre VFW; and his beloved cat Piglet. Friends and family may call on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 4-6pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 6pm with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
