Obituary of Clyde E. Clark

Clyde E. Clark, 79, of Milan, PA passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Towanda Guthrie Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Clyde was born January 8, 1937 at home in E. Smithfield, PA, the son of the late Manley and Beatrice Parks Clark. Clyde was employed for 40 plus years with Kennedy valve in Elmira, NY, after retiring Clyde and Phyllis ran a paper route for the Elmira Star Gazette delivering over 200 papers daily. With their special granddaughter, Lauren, at their side or on the John Deere Tractor, They started and maintained their herd of Black Highlander cattle. Clyde was a John Deere man, owning several tractors including a couple classic John Deere tractors. He enjoyed going to farm sales and tractor shows. Clyde was always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the job. He was also a good team worker as he worked with his daughter getting her lot ready for a new house, always gave great advice, friendly, never had a mean thing to say about another person. Clyde is predeceased by a sister Doris Sullivan, great grandson Jordan Allen Chilson, Father and Mother-in-law George Sr. and Helen Collins; son-in-law’s Fred Millard and Ted Johnson; sister-in-law Barbara Collins and brother-in-law George Collins, Jr. Clyde is survived by his wife Phyllis whom he married September 5, 1958 at home. Children Bonnie Johnson and Robert Peterson of Monroeton, PA, Becky and Bill Reinhart of Waverly, NY, Clyde, Jr. and Lisa Clark of Bentley Creek, PA, Brian Clark of Lawrenceville, PA, Brett and Wendy Clark of Waverly, NY and Bart and Terri Clark of Bentley Creek, PA, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, brothers Vernon and Rodney Clark, sisters Cheryl, Maxine and Beverly, special cat and dog Meow Meow and Nick, sister-in-law’s Mary Hoffman of Granville Summit, PA, Donna Cole of Blossburg, PA, brother-in-law Donald Collins of Jersey Shore, PA, special guy friends Frank Baker, Tommy Burnett, Travis Cole and Ryan Halton, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens, PA, Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Katie McDonnell officiating.
