Charlotte Lovejoy, 89, of Sayre, PA formerly of Athens, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Sayre Healthcare Center after a short illness. She was born on July 6, 1926 in Sayre, PA the daughter of Stanley and Gertrude Murray Arnts. Charlotte was a member of the Waverly Baptist Church. She was a former Volunteer at Guthrie Healthcare and for many years she and her husband Carl delivered for the Meals on Wheels program. Charlotte worked for many years for the Blue Swan Mills in Sayre and later worked in the offices at the Ingersoll-Rand, Athens, retiring after many years of dedicated service. She is predeceased by her husband Carl Lovejoy in 2004, father Stanley Arnts, mother Gertrude Fitzgerald, step-father Norman Fitzgerald, and step-sister Diane Bethards in 2016. Charlotte is survived by her brother-in-law Bob Bethards of CA, several nieces and relatives, close friend and caregivers Dan Leary and Lisa Kisel, and close friends and neighbors Gary and Mary Shangraw. At Charlotte’s request there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. She will be buried beside her husband in Glenwood Cemetery in Waverly, NY at the convenience of family.
