Obituary of Imogene C. Norton
Imogene C. Norton, 79, of Athens, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Highlands following a brief illness.
She was born on October 16, 1936 in Hiawatha, WV, the daughter of the late Herman and Anna Jordan Vaughan.
Imogene worked at the Bradford County Manor for over ten years as a Nurses' Aide. She was a dedicated housewife and mother. Imogene enjoyed collecting bells, gardening, and crocheting. She loved reading her Bible and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed camping and fishing.
Imogene is survived by her husband of 58 years George, Sr. at home, children Henry and Donna Norton of Sayre, PA, George, Norton, Jr. and fiancé Betty Vargson of Athens, PA, Barbara and Jim Canning of Athens, PA, and Brian Norton and fiancée Dawn Rothenhoefer of Orlando, FL, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister Ruth Voda of Silvara, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 11am – 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. Joe Kutch officiating.
Burial will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, PA.
