Michael W. "Mike" Byrd, Jr., 20, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on August 28, 1995 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Michael W. Byrd, Sr. and Dana Heller. Mike graduated the top of his class in 2014 from Sayre High School. He was employed with Cargill in Wyalusing. He loved spending time with his daughter, Sophia, and his family and friends. Mike loved being a brother and hanging out with his siblings. He enjoyed basketball and 4-wheeling. Michael is survived by his parents, his daughter Sophia, brothers Daniel Heller of Philadelphia, PA, Jordan Byrd of Sayre, PA, and Alyiah Byrd of Sayre, PA, paternal grandparents Elizabeth and Wayne Byrd, maternal grandmother Debra Tasey, aunt and uncle Aimee and Christopher Mack, and cousins Tyler and Gianna. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6pm-8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 8pm.
