Ernest "Ernie" Daher, 68, of Sayre, PA passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at home following an extended illness. He was born on February 14, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Ernest and Anna Unger Daher. Ernie worked as a Teacher of Mathematics for the North Babylon School District and served as Department Chair of Mathematics at the Cold Spring Harbor District. Ernie enjoyed model railroading, reading, gardening, attending Binghamton Mets games and was an avid NY Mets fan. Ernie is survived by his wife of 34 years Cecelia at home, sisters Barbara (Dennis) Wilson of Waynesboro, VA, Anne (Edward) Byrne of Ronkonkoma, NY, and Linda (Thomas) Feeley of Bohemia, NY, brothers-in-law Thomas Collins of Athens, PA, and Edward (Laurie) Collins of Burlington, VT, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 6pm – 8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 8pm with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA on Thursday, October 4 at 10:00am.
