Mariella Keir, 99, of Sayre, PA went home to be with her Lord on November 6, 2012 at Robert Packer Hospital. She was born on February 7, 1913 in Burdette, NY the daughter of Frank and Helen Johnson Thorp. Mariella attended Troy Schools, graduating in 1931, thereafter she worked at Penney’s in Troy, PA. She was a member of Sayre Presbyterian Church. Mariella volunteered for many years in the Robert Packer Hospital Admissions Department. She enjoyed baking peach pies, sewing for her grandchildren, and watching Lawrence Welk and Pennsylvania Polka on Saturday nights. She liked the NY Yankees and Penn State. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1990, father Frank Thorp, mother Helen Clark, brothers Bob and Ray Thorp, and daughter Shirley Keir Allen. Mariella is survived by her children Katherine "Kitty" and Jim Felt of Sayre, PA, Sandra and Thomas Richard Walsh of Towanda, PA, and Gayle Keir of Sayre, PA, grandchildren Robbin and Donnie Skerpon of Sayre, PA, Tammy and Dave Mastrantuono of Waverly, NY, Rick and Jeanne Felt of Sayre, PA, Randy and Lynette Felt of Sayre, PA, Patrick and Stacey Walsh of Monroeton, PA, and Mark and Jennifer Walsh of Saratoga Springs, NY, great-grandchildren Luke, Taylor, and Elyse Skerpon, Jeffrey and Joshua Mastrantuono, Sarah, Adam, and Marc Felt, Kendra and Katherine "Katie" Felt, and Kennedy and Kerrigan Walsh, her 98 year old sister Vivian Mattocks of Troy, PA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 1pm – 2pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at 2pm with the Rev. Jack Felt officiating, Memorial donations may be made in Mariella’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
