George P. Nicholson, 84, of Ulster, PA passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at home following a brief illness. He was born on June 22, 1928 in New York City, NY the son of the late George P. and Barbara Wilbur Nicholson. George proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was an honest caring family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Mildred Rosemary Nicholson in 2002, and brother Paul Nicholson in 2011. George is survived by his son Louis Nicholson of Ulster, PA, grandchildren Anamaryah Nicholson of Scranton, PA, Louis Nicholson, Jr. of Ulster, PA, and Cash Carter Nicholson of Ulster, PA, and great-granddaughter Savanah Rosemary Nicholson. Friends and family may call on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 12pm - 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Memorial will follow at the Funeral Home at 1pm with the Rev. Edward Michellini from the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
