Obituary of Elsie Cole

Elsie V. Cole, 94, of Sayre, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on October 29, 1918 in Litchfield, PA the daughter of the late Leon and Maude Munn. Elsie was a longtime member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Sayre. She graduated from Athens High School in 1937. She lived and worked on the family farm with her husband and children in Sheshequin Twp. Elsie held many different positions within the church and over the years made many lap robes for missions. She made quilts and Afghans for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Walter Cole in 1992, sisters Alice Rice and Evelyn Page, and brother Kenneth Munn. Elsie is survived by her children, Eleanor and Ed Wojcinski of NC, Irene and David Gattone of Fredricksburg, PA, Alberta and Edward Lindsey of NC, Dale and Sandi Cole of Towanda, PA, Shirley and Gerry Franklin of Candor, NY, Judy and Dan Simpson of Sayre, PA, and Don Cole of Athens, PA, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from Noon – 1pm at the Pilgrim Holiness Church, 607 South Wilbur Ave., Sayre, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Church at 1pm with the Rev. Dr. Edward Lindsey and Rev. John Musser co-officiating. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery, Nichols, NY.
