Mark L. Novotny, 40, of Athens, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 following an extended illness at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 1, 1972 in Elmira, NY the son of Paul and Mary Slater Novotny. Mark enjoyed woodworking, small engine repair, restoring lawn tractors, car and gasoline pump detailing, and being outdoors. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Irene and Frank Novotny, maternal grandparents Vern and Alma Walmsey, and uncle Donald Walmsey. Mark is survived by his spouse of 10 years Karen at home, step-children James, Hashley, and Craig Callear, grandchildren Skyler, Ashley, and Hannah Callear, brother Brett (Diane) Novotny of Elmira, NY, Christy (Frank) Maffei of Litchfield, PA, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his very special K-9 friend Tipper.
