Marjory L. McKinery, 91, of South Waverly, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at home with her family by her side. She was born May 14, 1921 in Sonestown, PA the daughter of the late Howard and Millicent Gavitt Stackhouse. Marjory was a loving wife and mother, who adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marjory graduated from Davidson Twp. High School, Sonestown, PA in 1938 and the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She was retired from Sayre House Nursing Home where she was employed as a Registered Nurse. Marjory loved to travel, especially with Clementine Ferro, taking numerous bus trips, and she loved going for rides, it didn’t matter where. She especially enjoyed sitting on her deck watching the fish in the Koi pond, observing the birds, and other joys of nature, and she always enjoyed listening to jazz. She was predeceased by her husband Francis T. McKinery and brother Leonard Stackhouse. Marjory is survived by her children Jane and Gerald Ferro of Sayre, PA, Donald and Sonya McKinery of Middletown, DE, Lucille McKinery of Sayre, PA, William and Beth McKinery of Sayre, PA, and Mary and John Schmieg of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Denise Ferro Thompson of Dillsburg, PA, Adrienne Russell of Mansfield, PA, Brian and Amber McKinery of DE, Gabriel and Brooke Schmieg of Westborough, MA, Sara Schmieg and Casey Kruger of Portland, OR, Jordan Schmieg of Charlotte, NC, Levi and Jennifer Schmieg of Corning, NY, Jeffrey McKinery of Sayre, PA, Karen McKinery of Sayre, PA, Margie McKinery of Syracuse, PA, and Frances McKinery Jeppeson of Oklahoma City, OK, great-grandchildren Brooke Arnold, Addison Streeter, Audriana Sharp, David Jeppeson, Alaina Jeppeson, Kate McKinery, Giana Kruger, and Noah Schmieg, sister-in-law Marie Stackhouse, very special neighbors Mike and Diana Voytkowski, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 3pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev.
