Robert W. "Bob" Hill, Sr., 92, of Sayre, PA passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at home with his family by his side. He was born on April 15, 1920 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Lisle and Harriet Finch Hill. Robert graduated from Owego Free Academy. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre and the Korean Conflict. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and many years on the river. He loved hunting, fishing, and baseball, and he loved all dogs. Robert worked for Agway, retiring after many faithful years of service. He attended the Sayre United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Sayre Elks and a past member of the Sayre Sportsman’s Club. He is predeceased by his wife Lucille Talada Hill, brother Lisle Hill, Jr., sisters Marilyn Stine and Natalie Liechty, and stepsons Randy Oswalt and Jeff Oswalt. Robert is survived by his children Robert and Eleanor Hill of Sayre, PA and Harrison "Ike" and Jennifer Hill of Waverly, NY, grandchildren Benjamin (Christina) Hill, Jacqueline Hill, Harrison (Mike) Hill, Allison (Eric) Brookhart, and Jeremy Bowen, great-granddaughter Sara Cecille Hill, brother Richard (Anita) Hill of Greenfield Center, NY, and friend and caretaker Ginny Bellows. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 2pm – 4pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at 4pm with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
