Anna M. Hulbirt, 89, of Sayre, PA died on February 20, 2013 at ElderWood Health Care Facility following a brief illness. She was born on September 18, 1923 in Sayre, PA the daughter of Willis and Ida Doty Houck. Anna attended the Sayre United Methodist Church and was a lifelong Valley resident. She read her Bible faithfully daily and enjoyed reading other books. She is predeceased by her husband LeRoy Hulbirt in 1981, a grandson in 1992, brother Myron Houck in 1989, and special friends Florence Foster and Duane Wilcox. Anna is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, special cousin and caregiver Bonnie (Frank) Sindoni of Sayre, PA, and special friend Mavis Jean Wilcox of Athens, PA. At Anna’s request there will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are under the care of Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at ElderWood and to the Rev. Diane Bentley for her many visits to Anna during her stay at ElderWood. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads, NY.
