Obituary of Bernice Druffner

Bernice U. Millard Druffner, 84, of Athens, PA passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at home with her loved ones by her side following an extended illness. She was born on April 13, 1928 in White Haven, PA the daughter of the late Thomas and Veronica Ziminski Kindred. Bernice worked at Robert Packer Hospital as a Switchboard Operator, retiring in 1978. She loved to crochet, sew, cook, and loved attending the family reunions. One of her favorite past times was to go to the casino. She loved her little "Hannah" yorkie. She loved her family very much and she will be missed. She is predeceased by her first husband Donald Millard, brothers Robert, Melvin, Marvin, and Ronald Kindred, and sisters Sharlene Bogutski and Marie VanKevich. Bernice is survived by her husband of 42 years Lewis at home, children Donald (Joanne) Millard of Athens, PA, Diane (John) Park of St. Mary’s, GA, step-children James Druffner (Bill Stroud) of Park City, UT, Susan (James) Summers of Athens, PA, Kathryn (Jeff) Small of Rochester, NY, and Thomas (Christine) Druffner of Rochester, NY, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sister Alice Patton of Dallas, PA, brother Thomas (Rose) Kindred of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 11am – 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at 1pm with the Rev. Vincent Langan officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
