Winona G. "Nonie" Learn, 62, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 at home following an extended illness. She was born on November 23, 1950 in Blossburg, PA the daughter of the late Willis, Sr. and Viola Mae Parker McNeal. Nonie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her life centered around her faith and family. She was a member of the Zion Chapel, Waverly, NY. Nonie worked at Sayre High School as a Custodian and Heritage Nursing Home as a CNA for several years. Nonie was a former member of the Skiff-Bower VFW Post #1536 Auxiliary. She loved to crochet and read Beverly Lewis books. She is predeceased by her husband Carl S. Learn, step-father Frank Walcheski, and brother Wilford McNeal. Winona is survived by her children Karl S. Learn of Naples, FL, Keith E. Learn of Milwaukee, WI, Kevin (Tina) D. Learn of Sayre, PA, Lisa R. Learn of Sayre, PA, Kenneth R. Learn of TN, Cristine E. Learn of Naples, FL, James B. Learn (Jaimie Maddox) of Sayre, PA, and John A. Learn of Sayre, PA, numerous grandchildren including Autumn Learn, Cheyanna Roberts, and Jamie Roberts, 5 great grandchildren including Exzavion Farrell, siblings Willis McNeal, Jr. of IA, Wanda McNeal of Sayre, PA, Frank Walcheski of Canton, PA, Susan Walcheski Hicks of Canton, PA, and Gary Walcheski of Chemung, NY, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins . Friends and family may call on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 12pm-1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. David Wallace from Zion Chapel officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
