Kathryn Fenchel-Lafritz Johnston, 41, of Sayre, PA, passed away on March 27, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on April 19, 1971 in Roanoke, VA the daughter of Richard H. and Clara M. Beardsley Fenchel. Kathryn was a well-known and respected member of the Wal-Mart family. She is predeceased by her father Richard H. Fenchel, and mother-in-law Charlotte Johnston. Kathryn is survived by her spouse Norman at home, children Ashley Fenchel and Channce Holdaway of Sayre, PA, Melinda Garris and Dillon Randall of Sayre, PA, Richard Garris of Sayre, PA, John Fenchel of Waverly, NY, Donald Johnston of Johnson City, NY, Andrew Johnston of Sayre, PA, Ryan Johnston of Sayre, PA, Erica Benjamin of Waverly, NY, and Kelcie Benjamin-Johnston of Waverly, NY, 9 grandchildren, siblings Richard Fenchel of Roanoke, VA, Gladys Fenchel of Elmira, NY, Grace Fenchel of Elmira, NY, Tonda Grover of Sayre, PA, Charles Hamilton of Roanoke, VA, Sharon Zafferese-Dappold of Elmira, NY, and Milton Niles of Sayre, PA, special aunt Helen Henry of Waverly, NY, step-mother Beatrice Fenchel of Roanoke, VA, numerous aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 12pm – 1pm at the Emory Chapel, 234 Emory Chapel Road, Waverly, NY. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1pm at the Chapel with Pastor Gary Culver officiating. Please bring a dish to pass and gather with the family at the Wheelock Hose Company, 217 Frank Street, Sayre, PA to share your favorite memories and stories of Kathryn following the service.
