Lois J. Cook, 94, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Thursday, April; 4, 2013 at Sayre Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born on September 28, 1918 in Sonestown, PA the daughter of the late Dr. Hugh and Floye Whiting Davis. Lois was a graduate of Sonestown High School, Class of 1936, attended Dickinson Seminary in 1937 and graduated from the Robert Packer School of Nursing in 1940. She is predeceased by her husband Norman B. Cook, twin sister Louise A. Davis, and brothers Robert Davis and Hugh Davis. Lois is survived by her daughters Carolyn L. Cook, of Sayre, PA and Michelle (Jim) Crain of Milton, VT, grandsons Josh Crain (Cynthia Daniels) of Dundee, NY, and Scott Crain of Milton, VT, several nieces and nephews, dear friends Louise Osmun-Carson of Sayre, PA, Eileen Farr of Ridgebury, PA, and Margaret Kich of Lawrenceville, PA, and her very caring neighbor Suzanne Jarrett. Per Lois’s wishes there will be no services. A private family gathering will be held at a later date at the graveside with Lois’s beloved nephew the Rev. Dr. Hugh Davis having a prayer service at that time. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
