Jean C. Adams, 90, of Athens, PA, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Ashton Health Care Center. She was born on July 30, 1922 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Alan J. and Hazel A. Donlon. Jean graduated from Athens High School, and the Robert Packer School of Nursing. She was employed with Robert Packer Hospital as a Registered Nurse, and also worked at Sayre House and Tioga Nursing Home. She enjoyed square dancing and reading. Jean served as past President of the Shepard Hills Country Club Auxiliary, a member of the Eastern Star, D.A.R., Bradford County Historical Society, and the National Society of Magna Charta Dames. Jean is survived by her husband of 68 years Gayle Adams at home, daughter Kathy (Richard) Minielly of Roanoke Rapids, NC, son David Adams of Athens, PA, grandchildren Krista (Shawn) Crane of Austin, TX and Stephanie (Kevin) Wilson of Austin, TX, and great-grandchildren Storm and Alex Wilson. At Jean’s request there will be no services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
