Obituary of Miriam Pipher-Elinski
Miriam J. Pipher-Elinski, 74, of Athens, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit.
She was born on May 11, 1938, in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Gerald and Eleanor Truesdale Driscoll.
Miriam was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was well known for her sense of humor. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sports of all kinds but particularly baseball and basketball. Miriam loved to shop and was always ready to go, especially if headed to Dunham’s, her favorite store. She loved going out to eat with her family and friends.
She is predeceased by her first husband Dale R. Pipher and second husband John C. Elinski.
Miriam is survived by her children Penny and Ric White of Athens, PA, Susan Hadlock and friend Thomas Comstock of Laceyville, PA, and Judy and Mark Hill of Athens, PA, grandchildren Dale Farr and friend Angie Smith of Troy, PA, John and Heather Hadlock of East Smithfield, Ashley White of Las Vegas, NV, Cody White of Athens, PA, and Carl and Mallory Hill of Athens, PA, great-grandchildren Collin and Caleb Hadlock, Madison and Macklin Farr, and Kylie Hill, brothers and sisters-in-law William and Edith Driscoll of Rome, PA and Stephen and Jacqueline McNamara of Athens, PA, sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Rudy Scarborough of NC, sister-in-law Anne Regan of Horseheads, NY, brothers-in-law and spouses Rocky and Phyllis Pipher of Mountain Lake, PA and Edwin and Allison Pipher of Hornbrook, PA, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 10am – 11am at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 11am with the Rev. Sandy Brandt officiating.
Burial will be in Hornbrook Cemetery, Sheshequin Twp., PA.
