Jeanne M. Chevalier, 89, of Sayre, PA passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Elderwood. She was born on March 23, 1924 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late George H. and Grace VanBuren Johnson. Jeanne loved to sing and dance and she enjoyed crafting. She coordinated the activities at the Airport Senior Community for a number of years. Jeanne attended Sayre Christian Church. She is predeceased by her husband Victor, son Ronn, brother George Johnson and sister Phyllis Boss. Jeanne is survived by her daughter Sue and Walt Harris of Elmira, NY, grandchildren Ronni and Rick Porcaro, Michael and Cheri Chevalier, Neil Chevalier, Van Chevalier, Vicki and Bob Schornstheimer, Kim Harris, Sott and Tina Harris, and Lon and Annette Harris, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, brother Richard Johnson of Sayre, PA, sisters Katherine Park of Elmira, NY and Janice Besecker of Sayre, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Per Jeanne’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
