Obituary of Beverley Edwards
Beverley Jean (Marsh) Edwards, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013.
Mrs. Edwards was born on October 28, 1927 in Fulton, NY, the daughter of the late Howard L. and Marion E. Welling Marsh.
Beverley was a resident of Sayre, PA for the last 11 years, where she enjoyed the peacefulness of a small town and the friendliness of the people. She previously resided in Lakeland, FL where she was a member of Carpenters Home Church and also sang in the choir. Beverely worked as a Bookkeeper at the Publix Supermarket until her retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles but most of all she loved spending time with her children.
She was predeceased in death by her daughter Marsha Dee Wilbur and granddaughter April Lynn Hill.
Beverley is survived by her children Michael Anthony (Tami Sadusky) Edwards of Kirkland, WA, Lynda (Michael) Rooney of Columbia, MD, Brenda (Steven Erickson) Gallagher of Coplay, PA, Paulette Hill of Broadway, VA, Paul Edwards of Rochester, NY, and Colleen (Douglas) Gibson of Foley, AL, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, brother Mahlon C. Marsh and 5 nieces.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 6pm - 8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10am with her son-in-law Army Chaplain Douglas Gibson officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeland Memorial Gardens, Lakeland, FL.
It is requested, in lieu of flowers that memorial donations are made in Beverley’s name to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
