Obituary of James Quattrini

James R. Quattrini, 65, of Sayre, PA passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on June 4, 1948 in Sayre, PA the son of Thomas and Ethel Ryman Quattrini. James enjoyed a plethora of creative hobbies including cooking, gardening, art, and craftsmanship. He had an inquisitive desire for knowledge, and there was never a question he left unanswered. James was a loving and selfless man with a sense of humor that found the lightheartedness in any situation. He was active in his community as a member of the Roma Madre Lodge #1543 Sons of Italy, a registered nurse, and a supportive neighbor. He is predeceased by his daughter Linda Quattrini and brother Louis Quattrini. James is survived by his children Jessica Quattrini, John Quattrini, Amy Wiley, and Becky Casterline, 4 grandchildren, siblings and in-laws Nellie Tyler, Thomas and Marlene Quattrini, Peter Quattrini, and twin sister Janelle Quattrini, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends and family may call on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 2pm – 4pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at 4pm with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in James’ memory to the: Nancy Quattrini Cancer Research Fund, Guthrie Clinic Research Center, One Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840.
