Regina Marie Weaver Marcy, 66, of Sayre, PA passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital. She was born October 24, 1946 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Isaiah and Eleanor Taylor Weaver. Regina was a member of St. James Church, Waverly, NY. She was employed with Dandy Mini Marts for over 30 years, starting as a Clerk at the Steele’s’ Store location on Keystone Ave., working at many of the Dandy stores over the years and the Dandy Corporate Office. Regina touched many lives within the community over the years, willingly helped anyone that needed it, and was a friend to many. She loved meeting new people and conversing with old friends, never forgetting anyone she came in contact with and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Regina was a loving and proud mother and grandmother. She was a 1966 graduate of Athens High School and an active member of the Reunion Committee. Regina is predeceased by her sister Marjorie Weaver Salmela and husband Carl L. Marcy, Jr. Regina is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Gerald Chandler, Jr. of Rome, PA, her two special granddaughters Caroline AnnMarie Chandler and Catherine AnnMarie Chandler of Rome, PA, grandson Gerald R. Chandler of Nichols, NY, granddaughters Marsha N. Chandler of Athens, PA and Jessica L. Chandler of Waverly, NY and grandson Christopher Chandler of Towanda, PA, aunt Joyce Weaver of Athens, PA, brother-in-law Dennis Salmela of VanEtten, NY, special nephew Erik V. Salmela of Allentown, PA, and several cousins. Friends and family may call on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 1pm – 3pm and 6pm – 8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10:00 at St. James Catholic Church, 503 Clark Street, Waverly, NY with the Rev. William Moorby and the Rev. Theo Griffin co-officiating. Burial will be in the Epiphany Cemetery, Sayre, PA. Memorial donations may be made to Regina's memory to the: Visions Federal Credit Union, 2121 Elmira St Sayre, PA 18840,for the Caroline AnnMarie and Catherine AnnMarie Chandler Scholarship Fund. These funds will go to further her granddaughters’ education.
