Obituary of Robert Clark
Robert F. "Bob" Clark, 82, of South Waverly, PA, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Sayre Health Care Center, Sayre, PA.
He was born on November 18, 1930 in Athens, PA the son of the late Austin and Rosena Strange Clark.
Bob worked with GTE as a lineman, retiring after 42 years of dedicated service. He graduated from Athens Area High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict abroad the U.S.S. Latimer. Robert was a member of Epiphany Parish, Sayre. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, yard work, and taking his dogs for rides around the Valley. He was a lifetime member of the Sayre V.F.W. Skiff-Bower Post #1536, Sayre Elks Lodge, and American Legion Fort Sullivan Post #246, Athens.
He is predeceased by his sister Eleanor Clark and infant brother Austin Clark, Jr.
Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years Margaret "Peggy" at home, children Kathleen and Dennis Lippincott of Barton, NY, Patrick and Irene Clark of Moscow, PA, and Susan and Jay Grossman of Columbia, MD, grandchildren Denise and Paul Stankavage, Jeanne and Joshua Reno, Adam Clark, Austin Clark, Michelle Grossman, and John Grossman, great-grandsons Ryan Lannon and Charles Reno, and several cousins in the Valley and Elmira area.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will held at Epiphany Parish, 304 South Elmer Ave., Sayre, PA on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 9:30am with the Rev. Andrew Hvozdovic officiating.
Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
