Howard C. Pond, 80, of Sayre, PA passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013. He was born on October 14, 1932 in Sayre, PA the son of the late William and Margaret Bellows Pond. Howard retired from the Ingersoll Rand, Athens Foundry in 1996. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Howard loved going to flea markets, and working on cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and neighbors. He is predeceased by his wife Florence Pond, 6 brothers, and 2 sisters. Howard is survived by his children Charles Eugene Pond of Waverly, NY, Gary and LeAnn Pond of Sand Coulee, MT, Kenneth J. and Linda Pond of Jersey Shore, PA, and Jack Pond of Litchfield, PA, 7 grandchidlren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11am atTioga Point Cemetery, .803 North Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev. Jon Austin officiating. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
