Lorraine C. Gable, 94, of Sayre, PA passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Ashton Healthcare Facility, Athens, PA following an extended illness. She was born on March 3, 1919 in Allentown, PA the daughter of the late Charles F. and Gladys Bernhard. Lorraine worked at the Social Security Administration in both Allentown, PA and Corning, NY, retiring in 1974 after 34 years of faithful service. She graduated from Catholic Central High School, Allentown, PA in 1937. Lorraine was a member of Church of the Epiphany. She is predeceased by her husband Jack L. Gable and cousin Chester Bernhard. Lorraine is survived by several nieces, nephews and special friend Mildred Nonnemacher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 9:30am at the Church of the Epiphany, 304 South Elmer Avenue, Sayre, PA. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Easton, PA.
