Obituary of June Nichols
June R. Nichols, 87, East Smithfield, PA passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at home following a brief illness.
Born November 6, 1925, in East Smithfield, PA to the late Florence Ayers.
June was very gracious and unselfish. She was a member of the East Smithfield Federated Church. June was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked alongside her husband Charles on their farm for 65 years. She enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays, playing skat, and croquet. Holidays were always a special time for her. June always found the good in everything and was well known for her sense of humor.
June is predeceased by her Mother, infant brother Glenn Robinson; brother Leland Robinson, and great grandson Gabe Robson.
She is survived by her husband Charles at home of 67 years, five children Sharon Yvonne and Stephen West of East Smithfield, Carla and Lyle Packard of Granville Summit, PA, Constance and Stephen Pelton of Monroeton, PA, Von Nichols and special friend Pat Bingaman of Herndon, PA, and Jan with longtime companion Joy Stanton of Pine City, NY.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Shelley Schrimp and Darin Vough of East Smithfield, PA, Stacey and Brian Hampton of Turbotville, PA, Stephen West, Jr. of Union, SC, Heather Packard of Granville Summit, PA, Haley and Tim Robson of East Smithfield, PA, Anthony Pelton and Kelly Root of Monroeton, PA, Sean and Melinda Pelton of Monroeton, PA, Erica Nichols and Nico Suarez of Horseheads, NY, Rebekah and John Cook of Wake Forest, NC, and Joseph Nichols of Wake Forest, NC; Shelly and Mike Russell of Horseheads, NY; several great grandchildren, Devin and Alissa Vough, Jacob Russell, Noah and Kaitlyn Robson, Austin and Brady Hampton, Jerrett Root, and Bjorn and Teddy Suarez.
Friends and family may call the J.E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 11 AM to 12:00 PM funeral services to follow with Pastor LaVern Jackson officiating.
Burial will be held at the Union Cemetery in East Smithfield, PA.
