Irene E. Woodruff, 82, of Sayre, PA passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at home. She was born in Rummerfield, PA on December 6, 1931 to the late Ernest LeRoy and Emma Covill Woodruff. Irene loved to crochet, collected dolls and eagles. She worked as a seamstress in the Athens Dress Factory and the Tile Factory in TX. She is predeceased by her husband Ernest W. Woodruff in 1992, sons LeRoy Woodruff and Ronald Woodruff, grandson Kenneth Deloach, and son-in-law Eddie Grulich. Irene is survived by her children Clista and Walter Parkhurst of Tunkhannock, PA, James and Bonnie Woodruff of Owego, NY, Emma Mae and David Kithcart of Stevensville, PA, Grant Woodruff of Mineral Wells, TX, Steven and Sally Woodruff of Waverly, NY, Asa Woodruff of Sayre, PA, and Reta Grulich of Breckenridge, TX, daughters-in-law Linda Woodruff and Mabel Woodruff, 24 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At Irene’s request, there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Mountain Lake Cemetery, Burlington, PA at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in Irene’s memory to the: Jay E.
