Cody Allen McNaughton, 21 of Sayre, PA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 20, 2013. Cody was born on May 8th, 1992 at Robert Packer Hospital. He was the son of Bonnie Besecker Maio and the late George Michael McNaughton. Cody graduated from Sayre High School in 2010. While there, he participated in track, wrestling, and school musicals. He was also active in the Missoula Children’s Theatre. Cody loved his family, friends, fishing, and music. Cody was an extremely talented musician and played his guitar at several local establishments. He was known for his sense of humor, his laugh, and his bear hugs. Cody could always cheer someone up when they were feeling down and would do anything he could to help anyone. He is predeceased by his father George Michael McNaughton, Aunt Robin Besecker, Uncle Dale Besecker, and maternal grandfather Thomas "Pop Pop" Besecker. Cody is survived by his mother Bonnie Besecker Maio, sister Cassandra Maio, stepfather Phillip Maio, maternal grandmother Janice Besecker, paternal grandmother RuthAnn Fry, maternal aunts Katherine Park, Terri Hunt, Brenda Jo Steinbrecher, maternal uncles Thomas Besecker and Richard Johnson, as well as Tony and Beth Maio, and their children Bailey, Blaise, and Zachary, Timothy Pipher, and Belinda Maio and her son J.B Maio. Also surviving are his cousins Dan and Michael Wayman, their children Erin, Courtney, Matthew (Blaire), and Colleen, Janelle and Jeremy Howe, their children Alyson Hunt and Austyn Stedge Howe, as well as Joel, Cherie, Cole, Carsen, and Holden Hunt. Cody is also survived by his girlfriend Tiffany Sewalt and her daughter Madyson. Cody touched countless lives in his brief time on earth. Friends and family may call on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Creamtion Services, Inc. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at 7pm with the Rev. Glen Mahaffey officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
