Obituary of Angelo Polzella

Angelo C. Polzella, 87, of Parma, OH, formerly of Sayre, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Greenbrier Health Center, Parma Heights, OH. He was born on December 5, 1924 in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Armenio and Mary Altieri Polzella. Angelo served in the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and received 2 Bronze Stars for the Campaigns. Upon returning, Angelo worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. He was the beloved husband of the former Jean Cotter having celebrated 66 years of marriage before her passing in 2010. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Jean Elizabeth Nov. 19, 2010, son-in-law Gerald Wall, brothers Modestino and Anthony, and sister Beatrice. Angelo is survived by his loving children Angelo A. (Toni) Polzella of Parma, OH, Mary Clare (Anthony) Hartmann of Buffalo, NY, Patricia Wall of Athens, PA, Michael (Debbie) Polzella Niagara Falls, NY, and Thomas (Carmen) of Fort Worth, TX, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a dear sister and brother Filomena (Duane) Bond of Oviedo, FL and Michael (Louise) Polzella of Athens, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1PM at Tioga Point Cemetery, 803 North Main Street, Athens, PA. Military Honors will be accorded. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
