Mary E. Tolbert, 93, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at The Highlands, Laporte, PA following an extended illness. She was born on March 19, 1920 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late William A. and Henrietta Brown MacNeal. Mary was a loving wife to Merle R. Tolbert, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked at the Sayre Floral Greenhouse and Scrivens Greenhouse for many years. Mary enjoyed camping for 33 years in Campbell, NY. She was a Member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Athens, a Lifetime Member of Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company, Life Member of The Penn York Valley Bowling Association, and Life Member of the Rebecca Lodge, Wysox, PA, serving over 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband Merle R. Tolbert, daughter Eileen B. Tolbert, son James A. Tolbert, sister Eunice, and brothers Gerald, Paul, Bernard, Tracey, and Stewart. Mary is survived by her children Lynn and Betsy Tolbert of Waverly, NY and Carol and John Reed of Sayre, PA, grandchildren Brett Tolbert of Sayre, PA, Grant and Amy Tolbert of Owego, NY, Keenan and Laura Tolbert of Corning, NY, Seth Tolbert of Wilmington, DE, Riane and Denny Casper of Malvern, PA, great-grandchildren Parker Tolbert, Miles Tolbert, and Ambrose Casper, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11am at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 703 South Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev. Benjamin Lentz officiating.
