Obituary of Jane Fraley

Jane H. Fraley, 93, of Athens, PA passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit. She was born on June 14, 1920 in Montour Falls, NY the daughter of the late Orlo and Helen Argetsinger Harrington. Jane was a 1938 graduate of East Smithfield High School and then attended Robert Packer School of Nursing. Jane was a Nurse with the Athens Area School District, retiring in 1981. She was a lifetime member of the Athens United Methodist Church, joining the church on April 5, 1942, served on the Church Administrative Board, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. After her retirement, Jane volunteered at the Robert Packer Hospital for over 10 years. She was an avid Penn State Fan. She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years Robert C. in 1991, son Robert in 1941, and grandson Weaver in 1969. Jane is survived by her children Ann and Tom Weaver of South Waverly, PA, Bill and Sharon Fraley of Dillsburg, PA, and Larry and Delina Fraley of Jupiter, FL, 8 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, sister Freddie Albee of Sarasota, FL, and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11am at the Athens United Methodist Church, 118 South Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev. Andrew Weidner officiating. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Jane’s memory to Athens United Methodist Church, 118 South Main Street, Athens, PA or charity of ones’ choice.
