Mary Jane Brownlee, 87, of Sayre, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Bradford County Manor. She was born on December 16, 1923 in Athens, PA, the daughter of the late Eben Dunham Brown and Florida Thornton Brown. Mary Jane enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a bookkeeper for many businesses in the Philadelphia area. Mary Jane was a member of the Widow’s Association in Sayre, the Monday Club until it closed, and the D.A.R. Mary Jane attended the Senior Center in Sayre until she was unable due to her health. She is predeceased by her husband G. Richard Brownlee, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Mary Jane is survived by her children Matthew Brownlee of Ithaca, NY, Gareth (Debbie) Brownlee of Waverly, NY, Vicki (Robert) Wefers of Pittsburg, PA, and Jesse (Alisa) Brownlee of Hatfield, PA, grandchildren Olivia and Joshua Brownlee of Hatfield, PA, step-grandchildren Charles Fedock, Christa (Joseph) Aliger, and Jessica (Al) Chandler, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Saturday, July 23, 201l, from 10am-11am at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at the Funeral Home at 11am. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
