Malabeam "Mal" Thompson, 72, of Sayre, PA passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was born December 17, 1938 in Deer Lake, New Foundland, Canada the daughter of the late George and Ann Reid Bradley. Mal loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She worked at Friend Lab for 14 years. Mal loved sewing, cooking, sports, video games, and puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her faithful K-9 companions Rico and Diego. She is predeceased by her husband Edward of 43 years in 1998, infant son Edward, Jr., 1956, and great-grandson Devin Joseph Woodruff, 1997. Malabeam is survived by her children David (Thressa) Thompson of Sayre, Pa, Geraldine Fern (Donald) Woodruff of Sayre, PA, Donna (Richard) Parrish of Athens, PA, Karen Hurlburt of Osceola, PA, Cindy Ferris of Corance, MS, Janet Decker of Sayre, PA, and Jennifer (Patrick) Snyder of LA, grandchildren James (Deanna) Thompson of Monterey, CA, John (Lisa) Thompson of Sayre, PA, Denise (Adam) Woodruff of Sayre, PA, Melanie (Tony) Woodruff of Sayre, PA, and Dylan Parrish of Athens, PA, and Derek Parrish of Athens, PA, great-grandchildren Dominique, Gabrielle, Olivia, Elizabeth, Trent, Alisha, Jolene, Leah, and Ethan, siblings Laviene, Fern, Violet, George, Rita, Marg, Ron, Ruby, Calvin, Karen, and Jim, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 6-7pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at 7pm at the Funeral Home with Major Lenny Wacenske from the Salvation Army Church in Fredonia, NY officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
