Vivian "Viv" L. Satterly, 82, of Sayre, PA passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Ashton Healthcare Facility following an extended illness. She was born October 8, 1928 in Middlesex, NY the daughter of the late Leslie and Irene Race Oswalt. Viv was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She worked as a Nurses’ Aide at Robert Packer Hospital, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Lady Trainmen, previously of Sayre and the Rebecca Lodge. Viv loved reading, camping, attending air shows, and her February trips to Florida. She is predeceased by her husband Robert, daughter-in-law Sharon Satterly, brothers Robert and Duane Oswalt, and father and mother-in-law Fred and Florence Satterly. She is survived by her son Paul Satterly of Sayre, PA and son and daughter-in-law Michael and Deb Satterly of Sayre, PA, grandchildren Stephen Satterly of Sayre, PA, Bryan Satterly (Nicole Bauer) of Sayre, PA, Alta (Kyle) Mayhugh of Hannibal, MO, and Rob (Kasey) Farmer of Mattoon, IL, great-grandchildren Rylan Farmer and Patrick Mayhugh, sister Joan (Rudy) LoVecchio of Fort Myers, FL, special nieces and nephews Karen, Cindy, Mark and Scott, and numerous cousins. Family and friends may call Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 10am to 12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at 12pm with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery.
