Richard P. Casselbury, 63, of Chemung, NY passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 19, 2014 at home following a brief illness. He was born on June 3, 1950 in Meshoppen, PA, the son of the late Walter and Harriet Richards Casselbury. Richard was previously employed at Leprino Foods, South Waverly, PA for 25 years until declining health prevented him for working. He was a loving, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and repairing small engines. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is predeceased by his brother Raymond Casselbury, sister-in-law Patricia Casselbury, and special nephew Brent Casselbury. Richard is survived by his children Lisa and Rich Horton of Sayre, PA, Rochelle Casselbury of Hammondsport, NY, Jim Casselbury of Chemung, NY, and Bonnie and Josh Montgomery of Waverly, NY, the mother of his children Paula Casselbury of Millerton, PA, grandchildren Brittany and Matt McGee of Gillett, PA, Lucas and Kaiya Horton of Sayre, PA, Ciera Celelli of Hammondsport, NY, Cayden Casselbury of Hammondsport, NY, and Abigail and Allison Montgomery of Waverly, NY, great-granddaughter Noelle McGee of Gillett, PA, brother Walter Casselbury of Waverly, NY and brother and sister-in-law Donald and Pam Casselbury of Waverly, NY, sisters and brothers-in-law Evelyn and Ronald Belcher of Burlington, PA, and Carol and Jim Skerpon of Sayre, PA, and several nieces and nephews. A Time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 6pm – 8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Burial will be in Chemung Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
