Obituary of Pamela Wright
Pamela "Pam" Fassett Kitchen Wright, 50, of Milan, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at home after a 3 year courageous fight with breast cancer, surrounded by her loving and devoted family by her side.
She was born on July 27, 1963 in Sayre, PA the daughter of Owen, Jr. and Nancy Sutton Fassett.
Pamela was a 1981 graduate of Athens Area High School. She went on to attend Keystone Junior College where she was Vice-President of the Alpha Kappa Tau Junior College Business Club. Pam graduated Cum Laude in 1983 with an Associates in Arts Degree in Business Administration
Accounting. She also attended Elmira College and graduated as an Honor Student Cum Laude in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She was employed for 16 years at the Endless Mountains Heritage Region in Towanda.
She was treasurer of the Athens Wildcat Basketball Booster Club for 4 years and helped run the concession stand for the Booster Club and was always active in her son's elementary programs. She served on the Brent Kitchen Memorial Fund Board and as the first Financial Assistant at Community Foundation Twin Tiers. Pam enjoyed family get together's for all holidays and birthdays. She loved shopping with friends and loved decorating her house. Pam was an avid NY Giants and Penn State fan. Most of all she loved her family, spending time with them, especially with her great nieces and nephews whom she adored.
She is predeceased by her first husband Brent Kitchen in 1990, father Owen Fassett, Jr. in 2003, grandparents Glenn and Veda Sutton and Owen, Sr. and Mabel Fassett, and special cousins Ronald Fassett, Jr. in 2007 and Kiersta Fassett in 2014.
Pamela is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 20 years Robert at home whom she married on Oct. 16, 1993, daughter Lacey Kitchen Wright (Jeff Allyn) of Athens, PA, son Lucas Wright (Kaitlynn Stubbs) of Corning, NY, stepson Brandon Wright (Kristi Gray) of Sayre, PA, mother Nancy Sutton Fassett of Athens, PA, brothers Michael (Pamela) Fassett of Waverly, NY, Jeffrey (Mary) Fassett of Ulster, PA, nieces and nephews Amy (Joe) Wheeler of Sayre, PA, Rebecca Fassett (Glenn Jarvis) of Sayre, PA, Glenn (Amy) Fassett of Waverly, NY and Andrew Fassett of Waverly, NY, great nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored Madisyn, Camden, Chase, Maci, and Meeya Wheeler of Sayre, PA, McKenna and Ava Jarvis of Sayre, PA, and Anna and Owen Fassett of Waverly, NY. She is also survived by her devoted in-laws Dale and Mary Lou Kitchen, sister-in-law Jana (Rob) Reynolds and family, special friends Bill and "BFF" Shari Clark, Kathy and John Wimsatt, Lori Brelsford, and Missy Stopper, special cousins Steve and Sally Roberts, Rob and Deanna Fassett, many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.
Family and Friends may call on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 2pm-5pm at the Waverly United Methodist Church, 158 Chemung Street, Waverly, NY. Funeral Services will follow at the church at 5pm with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
Burial will be Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
