Frances M. Miner, 97, of Waverly, NY passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre following an extended illness. She was born on August 8, 1917 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the Alfred and Madeline Kline Dixon. Frances attended Calvary Baptist Church in Athens. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She was a member of the Sayre Senior Citizens. She is predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Charles and Mary Kline, husband Delmar "Tim" Miner, Sr., husband Sam Miner, and son Charles Miner. Frances is survived by her children Gerald and Janet Miner of Rome, PA, Delmar "Scott" and Vivian Miner of Winchester, VA, and Larry Miner of Sayre, PA, 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sisters Pauline Snover and Helen Wikoski, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 11am-1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. Robert Flatt officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Frances's memory to a charity of ones choice.
