Lawrence "Larry" L. Davidson, 90, of Athens, PA passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Towanda Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA following a brief illness. He was born on January 26, 1924 in Monroeton, PA the son of the late Clarence L. and Alice M. Chilson Davidson. Larry was employed in the shipping department with Ingersoll Rand, Athens, prior to retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and fly tying. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Elsie M. Davidson in 2000, son Daniel Davidson in 1996, sister Helen Wheat, and brothers Staff Sgt. Burton Davidson and Max E. Davidson in 1994. Lawrence is survived by his children David and Yvette Davidson of ME, Robin Davidson of Punxsutawney, PA, Laurie Lane of OK, Sandy and Robert McCarthy of Athens, PA, Mary and Butch Benjamin of Willseyville, NY, and John Davidson of Elmira, NY, grandchildren Kelsie Davidson, Ethan, Luke, and Emma Davidson, Christina Haas, and Melissa McCarthy, great-grandson Chace Fransisco, sister Sara Cici, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 2pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA at the convenience of the family.
