Delores Bidwell Green went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 12, 2014. She was born Delores Mae Gattone on November 29, 1932 to Verino and Catherine Gattone in Laureldale, PA. Delores graduated from high school and attended Allentown Bible College in Allentown, PA. In 1951, she married Bobbie L. Bidwell in Watertown, NY where they began their life in ministry in Salem, NJ .From there, their path in service to God took them to churches in Coleville, PA, Sayre, PA, Gratz, PA, Strattanville, PA, Schenectady, NY, and Syracuse, NY through 43 years of marriage. During this time, Delores and Bobbie were blessed with three sons, Paul Lawrence, Phillip James Bidwell, and David Charles Bidwell. In 1994, shortly after his retirement from the ministry, Bobbie L. Bidwell took his place in heaven, and Delores began a new chapter of life in Hobe Sound, FL where she took on the role of Dean of Women at the Hobe Sound Bible College. During this time, she married Kenneth L. Green in 2002 and lived in the Hobe Sound area until her passing. Delores was an accomplished musician, playing the piano, organ, and accordion. Her joy of music included directing the church choir. She was also a Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed her role as a pastor’s wife, entertaining church members and guests. Her missionary work took her to various places including Romania, and she also worked with Sight Seers, helping to organize leisure trips for seniors in South Florida. She took special joy in working with the young women of Hobe Sound Bible College as their Dean of Women for several years. Delores is survived by her husband Kenneth L. Green of Hobe Sound, FL, 3 sons Paul Lawrence (Diane) Bidwell of Allentown, PA, Philip James (Michelle) Bidwell of Delray Beach, FL and NYC, NY, and David Charles (Kitty) Bidwell of Schenectady, NY, brother David (Irene) Gattone of Fredericksburg, PA, and by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Friends and family may call on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 1pm – 2pm at the Pilgrim Holiness Church, 701 N. Wilbur Ave., Sayre, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the church at 2pm with the Rev. John Musser officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
