L. Grant Truesdale, 87, of Athens Twp., PA passed away on October 30, 2014 at home with his family by his side following a brief illness. He was born on June 17, 1927 in Athens, PA the son of the late Leon F. and Helen Hutchinson Truesdale. Grant graduated from Athens Area High School in 1945. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. He was employed as a Machinist with Ingersoll Rand, Athens for 39 years, retiring in 1989. Grant was a member of the Sayre First Presbyterian Church, Howard Elmer Hose Company #4 of the Sayre Fire Department and the Sayre Ambulance Corp. He was predeceased by his son Kenneth Truesdale, step-son Michael Park, and grandson Jonathon Q. Park. Grant is survived by his wife Mary at home, children David and Rose Truesdale of Horseheads, NY, Tom and Gail Truesdale of FL, Jeffrey and Siri of Gaithersburg, MD, Jonathan Truesdale of FL, stepchildren Robert and Kay Park of Sayre, PA, William D. and Daisy Park of Sheshequin, PA, Gail and James Trettel of Pasadena, MD, James A. and Terry Park of West Olive, MI, 36 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Allen Twigg of Chambersburg, PA, sister-in-law Beverly Quick of Waverly, NY, daughter-in-law Claudia Park of Odenton, MD, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may call on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 10am-11am at the Waverly Presbyterian Church, 459 Park Avenue, Waverly, NY. A Memorial Service will follow at the church at 11am. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA at the convenience of the family.
