Nancy T. Shenfield, 70, of Sayre, PA passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at home. She was born on February 26, 1944 in Lancaster, NY, the daughter of Clayton and Susan Beaty Weil. Nancy after receiving her degree as an RN as an, worked at Buffalo General Hospital as an Emergency Room Nurse, where she met her husband, Henry. They married in 1975, they moved to Germany, they traveled Europe together, then returned to Buffalo, where they started their family. They relocated to Sayre, where Henry started his career at the Guthrie Clinic and their family expanded. Nancy was a very active mom, participating as a PTA Member and was a Cub Scout Leader. She was a member of the Valley Chorus, Bradford County Regional Arts, where she helped to revitalize the Sayre Theatre. Nancy was involved in many other community organizations, to include the building of the Valley Playland. She built stained glass windows and lamps, caned chairs, and loved to sew and knit and was a very crafty person. Nancy was an avid movie goer, had a love for animals and a passion for cats. She loved spending time at the family farm and vacationing at the lake. She is predeceased by her father Clayton Weil and her husband Dr. Henry Shenfield. Nancy is survived by her sons Michael (Daci), John (Angie), and Stephen, a beloved grandchild, mother Susan, brothers Mead (Marilyn) and Eben (Cathy), a niece, several nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 11am-1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. Glenn Mahaffey officiating. A Private Family Burial will be in Erwin Townsend Cemetery, Painted Post, NY.
