Obituary of Robert C. Warner

Robert "Bob" C. Warner, Sr., 75, of Sayre, PA passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on June 17, 1938 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Lee and Janet I. Williams Warner. Bob served in the US Army from 1959-1964 with the 82nd Airborne Paratrooper stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC. During high school Bob was on the Athens High School undefeated football team of 1956 and track team of 1957. He was a 3 Sport Letterman in football, track and basketball. Bob was the Owner and Proprietor of the VanEtten Hotel for 20 years. After selling the hotel, Bob sold real estate for almost 20 years, prior to retiring in 2012. He was the Chairman of a Local AAHA, a member of ELKS Lodge #1148 and the Loyal Order of the Moose #1490. He is predeceased by his step-daughter Cindy King and ex-wife Audrey Warner. Bob is survived by his children Susan Warner of Candor, NY and Robert Warner, Jr. of Ithaca, NY, step-children Raymond Raupers and Michael Warner of Geneva, NY, 9 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 12pm-1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home.
