Hildegarde B. Touchon, 73, of Athens, PA, formerly of Martinsville, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at home following an extended illness. She was born on March 18, 1941 in Plainfield, NJ, the daughter of the late Martin Sinker and Mary Riester Sinker. Hildegarde was a Beautician for many years. She was a volunteer at the local VA Hospital and especially enjoyed helping with the MS patients. Hildegarde was an active member of the Blessed Sacrament Church of Martinsville, NJ, participated in the Notes of Love musical group at the church and learned to play the guitar and bass fiddle. Hildegarde loved to teach ceramics and many of her family and friends have precious momentos of her artistic talents. She enjoyed raising chickens, doves and quails. Hildegarde is predeceased by her husband Richard Touchon in 2011. Hildegarde is survived by her children Heidi and Keith Apgar of Gillett, PA, Jon Touchon of Athens, PA, and Michelle Cook of Hillsborough, NJ; grandchildren Jessie Apgar of Towanda, PA and Dana Apgar of Gillett, PA; sister Eileen O'Hara of FL and brother Martin Sinker of FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015at 10am at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, NJ. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., of Athens, PA.
