Brenda L. Coats, 54, of Sayre, PA passed away on Saturday December 27, 2014 at her home following an extended illness with her family by her side. She was born on July 8, 1960 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Elaine Beech Gillie. Brenda worked as a truck driver and was dedicated to her job and always worked very hard. She enjoyed watching TV, especially the SciFi station and her favorite show House. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Brenda enjoyed her beloved dogs Milo and Jackson. She is predeceased by her daughter Amanda Hart in 1985, mother Elaine Hodge in 2003, father Lawrence H. Gillie and her sister Lisa Beech in 1990. Brenda is survived by her significant other of 25 years Teddy Frank; children Amiee Gibson of GA, Jeremiah Coats of Scranton, PA, Raymond Sthem, Jr. of AR; special step-father and step-mother Eugene and Lorraine Hodge of Berkshire, NY; 4 grandchildren; and sisters Patricia and Wayne Norton of Milan, PA, Lauren Gillie of Florence, AZ, brothers Michael Beech of Ridgebury, PA and Patrick Hodge of Albion, PA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:00AM at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 south Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at 12:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Brenda's memory to Jay E.
